Now a well known mobile communications
retailer. Microguide assisted the Carphone Warehouse (CPW) when the
Company had less than 20 stores and was growing very rapidly. The Company
had outgrown its existing systems and needed solid back and front office
systems to manage the next stage of its growth.

Stores – CRM,
EPOS, insurance processing, sales order processing and invoicing
Outgrown current system -
CPW had outgrown its current system. It was unable to support future
business expansion.
Rapid growth – CPW
was experiencing rapid growth and required robust packaged software to
manage and control that growth enabling the Company to rapidly add on more
stores with minimal operational effort.
Significant functional weaknesses
- including the inability to process news sales quickly enough in the
stores, check stock availability across locations or to process bulk
replenishment orders for delivery to multiple locations.
Limited management reporting - much
analysis had to be performed using spreadsheets, which required data to be
rekeyed.
Documented user requirements in the form
of an ITT which was issued to a small group of potential suppliers.
Supplier proposals were evaluated and shortlisted. Detailed demonstrations
were attended and the favoured solution selected.
