UK Subsidiary of US Parent Company

Issue

The US Parent Company of this UK subsidiary planned to impose a US accounting software package on the UK based company.

Project

Assisting the UK subsidiary to put a sound business case to the parent company justifying locally sourced accounting software.

Outcome

Highlighted potential problems with the US sourced software including:

  • Lack of European based users

  • Limited local support

  • The software had not been fully converted to the UK business environment.

The US Parent Company accepted the argument against their preferred product and agreed that the UK Company could purchase a UK sourced packaged solution.
