Project
Following its MBO, Homelux needed to move from its parent company's ERP system, Intentia Movex, and select and implement new ERP software. Scale 1 UK location, 120+ employees, £15m+ turnover. Scope of requirements Sales (including CRM, estimating and quotations, sales order processing, sales analysis, etc), logistics (including purchasing, stock, warehouse management, etc), manufacturing (including production planning, BOM, scheduling, etc) and finance & management reporting. |
Issues
Transition from Intentia Movex - careful planning was required for the smooth transition from the parent company's ERP system to the new system within the agreed timeframe. Incorporation of ad hoc applications - into the new ERP software including tooling database, scrap recording database, customer and prospects database, label and bar code print management and demand forecasting. EDI links - re-establishing EDI links to major DIY store customers. Planned growth - need for systems to handle the anticipated future growth. Replace spreadsheets/databases - need for more comprehensive data integration from all functional areas and from a common source. Internal IT support - need to establish internal IT support requirements.

|
Summary
A forward looking IT strategy was produced to enable detailed functional requirements to be determined for a manufacturing based ERP system. Specialist suppliers of manufacturing ERP systems were researched and shortlisted. A series of awareness demonstrations were arranged, detailed supplier proposals evaluated and a favoured supplier identified. Final price and contractual details were negotiated. |
